Western Cooperative Credit Union was chartered on October 5, 1938. The credit union was founded in the desperate years of the 1930’s. Unemployment and farm failure due to drought were everywhere and those with little income needed somewhere to turn for financial help. The credit unions “People Helping People" philosophy was put to the test.

Mission: Western Cooperative Credit Union exists for the financial benefit of its members. Its purpose shall be to maximize member benefits through cost effective financial services, education consistent with cooperative principles, prudent management, and to maintain a strong presence in our communities.
